Yes but my abs light is on and its not as simple as that mine sayes longditugal senser and there's a latitudele one as well,on audi tt mk1.garages near me haven't even heard of it,that's why its still on

What might be the cause of the anti-lock brakes being too sensitive on my 2008 Escape. Even a light touch when there is snow or ice on the road and it kicks in preventing me from being able to stop the truck.

ABS DOES NOT stop you faster. It stops you straiter. ABS cannot possibly stop you faster. ABS ONLY releases brake pressure on wheels detected to be skidding. It DOES NOT apply extra pressure on any wheel under any circumstance. A skidding car will always stop faster than a car under the same circumstance than a car with ABS cycling the brakes. The ABS car is more likely to hit something in front of it while emergency braking than a skidding car. ABS was developed for aircraft landing at high speeds on runways that have rain, snow or ice on them. Runways are strait and narrow relative to aircraft size and speed (excluding lightweight private aircraft like a Cessna that can land at speeds comparable to hwy speeds of an automobile for example). 99.99% of cars will never see the speed of a landing military or commercial aircraft. Certainly, when traction is compromised, even modestly skilled drivers slow down. Having ABS on vehicles just lets drivers excel at being unskilled and not bother to learn how to drive. IMO, ABS should never have been put on cars.

How could an ABS warning light be related to HVAC? My 2011 Chevy Colorado is acting up, and ABS warning lights up at the same time as my heating system shuts down, and can't find the source of the problem.

About a week ago I was driving my car home from work and sat in traffic I noticed that the ABS light came on. The following day it didn’t come on until I had been driving it for 10 minutes or so or sat in traffic. I didn’t think too much to it as it was still driving fine and thought well if it comes on permanently I might get it looked at. A couple of days later I was driving home from a supermarket and looked down at my speedo and noticed that it wasn’t working. The rev counter was working fine and the car was still driving fine but I was starting to get concerned. That evening I done some research and it came to my attention that this is quite a known common fault. So I booked the car in to have the brake sensors checked at I am quite friendly with the guy who runs the garage so know ill get a professional job at a reasonable price. I got a phone call the following day asking me to come down the garage, its not good news. He said ive checked and replaced the front sensors which has brought the speedo back to life but now the speedo jumps up and down, almost flickering all round the dial which confuses the gearbox as it has no idea which gear to select. Sometimes over revving which isn’t very good for the engine. He said I didn’t change the rear sensors as the diagnostics weren’t able to receive a signal from the rear sensors, which highlights a problem somewhere?? He did say it would be extremely unlikely for them both to have gone at the same time. The ABS light is now flashing and staying on quite a lot. So, the garage has turned round and said he uses a delph diagnostic system which can only go so far and that perhaps a Vauxhall one might be able to locate the problem more specifically. Also he thinks a problem with the ABS pump might be causing it (not cheap) or the pump ECU. But he really isn’t sure and doesn’t want to just start swapping parts over and make this very expensive and not necessarily fix the problem. The car was only MOT’d 2 months ago and I was told a lot of mud was underneath the car that needed removing, they also had a close look at the breaks due to them going slightly rusty as I wasn’t driving it often enough. So they’ve obviously been fiddling about in this area. The car has only done 80,000 miles and I only just had the cambelt done 6 months ago. Any advice appreciated. Has anyone had a similar problem with a Vauxhall? Or worked at Vauxhall or in a garage and seen a similar problem. Obviously im reaching a last resort now of giving the car back to Vauxhall to have a look at which is what im trying to avoid but inevitably might be my only option.
